British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain. It arrives here as finished rope and braid, and is woven by hand. That is the whole route, and it is the reason this is worth making.
About this piece+
Wool for the character, BioThane for the weather. The Brampton Beige sets a hand-woven charcoal Brampton wool collar body on a beige 19mm BioThane® adjustable strap, with a hunter green 9mm BioThane® collar keeper for contrast.
Beige is the quietest strap in the Hybrid range, and on charcoal wool it reads as warm rather than pale. It is the version to choose if you want the wool to be the thing people notice and the strap simply to do its job through a wet British winter. The hunter green keeper is the only loud note, and it is a small one.
Fully waterproof BioThane® strap. Wipe-clean, no conditioning. Solid brass buckle and D-ring, with an 11mm Green Dog brass disc on the D-ring, stamped once with the logo. Choose the 3-row weave for any breed, or the 4-row weave for sighthounds, whippets, lurchers and greyhounds, or simply because you prefer the broader profile.

Materials & construction+
Wool weave: Brampton, the charcoal grey wool, hand-woven into the collar body in Britain. It is undyed. The colour is the colour the sheep grew. British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain.
BioThane® strap: Beige 19mm BioThane® BETA, fully waterproof and odour-resistant.
Collar keeper: Hunter green 9mm BioThane®, a contrast accent carried through to the paired hybrid lead.
Hardware: Solid brass roller buckle and D-ring. Twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Weave and sizes: 3-row or 4-row weave, eight sizes from XXS to XXXL. The 3-row weave is 34mm wide and the 4-row sighthound weave is 43mm, both over the 19mm BioThane® strap.
Sizing & fit+
How to measure: Measure the widest point of your dog's neck and add 2 to 3cm. If between sizes, size up. Two fingers should sit comfortably under the collar. If the size is not right, message me. Size exchanges and amendments are available.
3-row vs 4-row: 3-row is standard width, suitable for all breeds. 4-row is wider, distributing pressure more evenly across the neck. Ideal for sighthounds (whippets, lurchers, greyhounds) or any dog where a broader profile is preferred, or simply as a personal choice.
Available sizes: XXS 9 to 11.5 inches, XS 11 to 13.5 inches, S 13 to 15.5 inches, M 15 to 17.5 inches, L 17 to 19.5 inches, XL 19 to 21.5 inches, XXL 21 to 23.5 inches, XXXL 23 to 25.5 inches.
Changing your mind: Both the weave and the size come off a list I already make, so choosing between them is an ordinary purchase rather than a commission. You keep the full 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14. If the size turns out wrong, message me. Size exchanges and amendments are available. The terms are on my returns page.
Who pays the postage on an exchange: If the error is mine, meaning the wrong size was made up or the wrong weave built, the postage both ways is on me. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours.
Faulty or damaged: Anything that arrives faulty, damaged or not as described is mine to put right: repair, replacement or refund, with the postage covered.
Care & durability+
Wool weave: The wool is untreated, which is what gives it the handle. It also means it will felt if it gets wet and worked, so do not wash it. Let mud dry completely and brush it out with a soft brush.
BioThane® strap and keeper: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Rinse under running water after heavy mud. Fully waterproof and odour-resistant, no conditioning needed.
Hardware: Solid brass, wipe clean. Will develop a natural patina over time. Covered by Green Dog's twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Not machine washable: The BioThane® is wipe-clean and the brass is fine, but the wool is untreated and will felt if it gets wet and worked. So the collar as a whole is not a washable one: wipe the BioThane®, and let mud dry on the wool and brush it out.
Wool is the one material here that genuinely gets better. Customers who have had these pieces for years tell me they have improved with use, not worn out.
Questions & answers+
What is the difference between this and the leather Brampton collar? The strap. Same Brampton wool, same hand weaving, same standard, but a beige BioThane® strap instead of leather. BioThane® is waterproof, wipes clean and needs no conditioning. Leather needs looking after and rewards it.
Is the collar waterproof? The strap and the keeper are. The wool panel is untreated British wool, so it is not. It copes with wet weather and dries naturally, but it must not be washed: let mud dry on it and brush it out.
Should I choose 3-row or 4-row? 3-row is standard and suits any breed. 4-row is wider and distributes pressure across more of the neck, which is why it is the usual choice for whippets, lurchers and greyhounds. Some people simply prefer the broader look.
Does BioThane® smell or hold onto mud? No. It is odour-resistant and non-porous. Mud comes off with a damp cloth or a rinse under the tap.
Is there a matching lead? Yes, the Brampton Hybrid Lead in Chestnut. Put the collar and the lead in the same basket and 10% comes off the lead automatically, with no code. It does not combine with a discount code.
How long will it take to arrive? Two to six working days is the making window, and it ends when the collar is dispatched. UK tracked post is one to two working days after that, so door to door is usually three to eight working days. UK tracked delivery is free over £55.
Delivery & returns+
Made to order in Britain and dispatched in 2 to 6 working days. It's worth two minutes with the measuring guide before you order. This is a size from a range I already make, so if the size turns out to be wrong, message me within 14 days. An exchange or an amendment is usually simpler than sending it back. If I got it wrong, I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours. Either way, message me. I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. You also have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14: send it back unused and I'll refund what you paid for it and the standard delivery I charged, and the return postage is at your cost. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage.
