Every material in The Sheep Shed collection was chosen carefully. British wool for warmth, texture and natural antimicrobial properties. Italian vegetable-tanned cowhide because it ages into something better rather than wearing out. Solid brass because it holds its structure and its finish under load. None of it was chosen for convenience.
Sourced from British farms, this woven entirely by hand. Naturally antimicrobial, breathable and warm. The weave distributes pressure evenly across the collar — kinder on the neck than a single-strand design, and more comfortable on long walks. Ages beautifully.
Italian vegetable-tanned cowhide, cut, detailed and finished by hand. It is the strap the wool is woven around, and it is the part that ages: it takes on a patina with every walk rather than wearing out.

The Sheep Shed was designed to be Green Dog's most considered piece. Not because it uses more materials but because it uses better ones, and takes longer to make. The wool weave alone requires a technique distinct from anything else in the workshop. The Italian cowhide is cut, detailed and finished to a standard most manufacturers do not attempt. Every Sheep Shed piece is made by one person in Oxford. There is no production line, no volume target. There is just the work and care.
