How I work
- Hardware is guaranteed for twelve months. If a buckle, clip or ring fails in that time, send it back and I’ll repair or replace it, and I cover the postage.
- After that, send it back anyway, however old it is. I’ll replace the worn parts at cost and tell you what it needs before I touch it. It comes back cleaned, checked and boxed.
- If it isn’t adjustable, I check your measurements with you before I make it.
- Message the shop and it’s me, Ed, who replies. Usually within a few hours.
- Custom pieces aren’t refundable for a change of mind. If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours.

Because I cut this to the size you give me, it isn't covered by the usual 14-day change-of-mind right: I can't resell it, so I can't take it back simply because you've changed your mind. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours. If anything arrives faulty, damaged, mis-made or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage both ways. Either way, message me. A figure of 8 dog lead gives you two points of contact instead of one. The loop passes over the nose and behind the ears, so a dog that pulls feels the signal at the head rather than the throat, and it takes far less from you to steer.
It is the lead people try when a harness has stopped working and they do not want a head collar. Cockers, spaniels and terriers take to it quickly. Most dogs settle inside a walk or two.
Is a figure of 8 lead cruel? It is the question I am asked most, and it is a fair one. Used correctly it is gentler than a slip lead, because the pressure is spread across the nose and the back of the head rather than concentrated on the throat. The 19mm BioThane® slider is what makes that true in practice: you set the fit and it holds, so the loop cannot close further than you allow. Fitted too loosely it slips; fitted too tightly it is uncomfortable. The fit is the whole thing, and I will check it with you if you are unsure.
Built from 6mm rope with a 19mm BioThane® slider so you can set the fit and hold it. Light enough for a small breed, strong enough for a dog that pulls hard. Every one is whipped by hand at my bench in Britain, and nothing is cut until you order.
Choose the rope colour, the binding, the end caps, the rivets and the length. Twelve lengths, 120cm to 230cm.

Amazing lead well crafted and built to last. Has improved our dogs pulling and is a night and day difference. Hard to find things nowadays that isn't crappy quality from china but This is great quality and craftsmanship.
Great quality lead. Fast delivery. We have a very busy spaniel who can be incredibly pully on the lead, especially in busier environments, and this lead works wonders. No more pulling and I feel so much more in control and more confident I can have a comfortable day out without an aching shoulder afterwards!
Ordered a lovely figure of 8 lead as I was just using a rope lead twisted into a figure of 8 (works well to be honest ) but thought I’d invest in a proper one which is so much easier to get on my dogs nose.

Beautifully made and tough enough to withstand 2 enthusiastic spaniels - they look amazing too! Slight glitch with my order but it was resolved quickly and professionally. Beautifully made lead I cannot fault it in any way other than it is rather too lightweight for my Pyrenean Mountain Dog. Very suitable for smaller dogs. Can highly recommend if you have a labrador size.

I have had this beautifully made lead for about a week and have used it a lot in that time. I have a Labrador pup who is about 6 months old and is full of beans, so he pulls like the proverbial train! First time using the lead was a bit of a tussle, but he stopped pulling pretty quickly and by the end of the first walk with it was already used to the loop over his nose and he now walks perfectly - brilliant… I’m ordering another!
I’m a dog groomer and one of my clients bought her dogs in on these leads. She raved about how amazing they were in stopping her strong springers pulling. I have five small dogs, but one of them has always been a nightmare for pulling. As he’s only a toy poodle, finding a solution to stop this has been tricky. I bought him this lead following the recommendation and it’s just made such a huge difference. Walking my dogs has become pleasurable again instead of a bit of a chore. As the rope of the lead is quite narrow in comparison to anything I’ve ever seen before, it’s light weight, supple and perfect for dogs of all sizes. I highly recommend this product.
