Every Green Dog piece is made specifically for your dog. Nothing is pre-made, nothing is waiting on a shelf. This page explains exactly how the process works — from choosing your piece to the moment it arrives.

Find your product

Browse the collections and find the collar, lead or accessory you'd like. Each product page shows the full range of colour combinations, rope options, hardware choices and size availability.

Not sure which product is right for your dog? The Measuring Guide helps you choose the right size and product type — or just email Ed and he'll point you in the right direction.

Tip: Not all products are customisable. Look for the "Custom" badge on product pages. These are made to your exact specification.

Build it your way

On the product page, use the customisation options to design your piece. Choose your rope colour, binding colour, hardware finish (brass, stainless steel or nickel), length and size.

Colour palette images are attached to each option so you can see exactly what you're choosing. If you're unsure about any combination, email Ed before ordering — he'll photograph options together in the studio.

Want to see it first? Email hello@greendog.pet with the colours you're considering. Ed will photograph them together and send you a photo before you commit.

Add to basket & checkout

Once you're happy with your selections, add to basket. Your exact specifications are saved to your order and clearly shown at checkout before you pay.

Use the order notes field at checkout for any additional details — special requirements, gift messages, or anything else. Ed reads every note personally.

Payment is taken at the time of order. We accept all major cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna (pay in 3 instalments).

Ed makes your piece

Once your order is placed, Ed begins work on your piece in the Oxford studio. Every single detail of your specification — colours, hardware, length, size — is made exactly as you chose it.

Standard making time is 2–6 working days. You'll receive a confirmation email when your order is placed, and a dispatch notification with tracking when it leaves the studio.

Nothing is rushed. Nothing leaves the studio unless it meets Ed's standard.

Shipped to you, tracked

Your piece is packed in a branded kraft pouch and shipped in a compostable mailer — plant-based, weather-resistant, and composting within 3–6 months.

All UK orders are sent tracked as standard. You'll receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order dispatches. International orders are also tracked.

If anything isn't right when it arrives — sizing, hardware, anything — email Ed immediately and he will sort it.

Not right? Size exchanges are available on all custom orders. Email hello@greendog.pet and Ed will remake it.

What you can customise

Rope or cord colour

Choose from the full colour range for your rope, paracord or BioThane — the main body of your piece.

e.g. Navy, Forest Green, Chestnut, Guac, Petrol Blue

Binding colour

The whipping or binding at the handle and loop ends. Can match or contrast with the rope — your choice.

e.g. match the rope, or contrast with a pop of colour

Hardware finish

Solid brass, stainless steel or nickel-plated. Each has different aesthetics and durability properties.

Brass = warm, classic · Steel = clean, corrosion-proof

Length (leads)

Choose from standard lengths or specify a custom length. Most common choices are 100cm, 120cm and 150cm.

On slip leads and certain collars, the rubber stopper and end cap can be colour-matched or contrasted.

Every piece is made after you order it. There is no stock sitting on a shelf. The making time is how long it genuinely takes to craft something properly — cutting rope to length, finishing ends, testing hardware, and checking everything before it leaves the studio.

Common questions

Quick answers before
you order

Use a soft tape measure around the widest part of your dog's neck with two fingers underneath for comfort. The Measuring Guide has full instructions, sizing charts and diagrams for all product types including sighthounds. If you're unsure, email Ed with your dog's breed and measurement before ordering.
Email hello@greendog.pet — Ed replies personally, usually within a few hours. He can answer sizing questions, photograph colour combinations, and advise on which product is best for your dog.
Yes — email hello@greendog.pet as soon as possible with your order number and what you'd like changed. As long as your piece hasn't been started, Ed can update the specification. Once work has begun, changes may not be possible.
Custom pieces are non-refundable, but the Perfect Fit Guarantee means Ed will work with you on sizing through exchanges and amendments. If the size isn't right, email him and he'll fix it. Read the full returns policy →
Standard (non-customised) pieces can be returned within 30 days of receipt, unused and in original packaging. Email hello@greendog.pet first before returning anything.
Yes — this is one of the most popular requests. Browse the full collection and choose the same rope and hardware combination on both your collar and lead. If you want to confirm the combination looks right together, email Ed and he'll check before you order.
We ship worldwide with tracked delivery. USA ships via FedEx Priority only — import duty of 10% is collected by FedEx on delivery and is the recipient's responsibility.
