How I work
- Hardware is guaranteed for twelve months. If a buckle, clip or ring fails in that time, send it back and I’ll repair or replace it, and I cover the postage.
- After that, send it back anyway, however old it is. I’ll replace the worn parts at cost and tell you what it needs before I touch it. It comes back cleaned, checked and boxed.
- If it isn’t adjustable, I check your measurements with you before I make it.
- Message the shop and it’s me, Ed, who replies. Usually within a few hours.
- Custom pieces aren’t refundable for a change of mind. If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours.

Because I cut this to the size you give me, it isn't covered by the usual 14-day change-of-mind right: I can't resell it, so I can't take it back simply because you've changed your mind. If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours. If anything arrives faulty, damaged, mis-made or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage both ways. Either way, message me. The Strand | Slip Lead for Dogs | 6mm Rope | Customisable
A slip lead is one continuous loop. No clip, no buckle, no separate collar. It tightens gently when your dog pulls and releases the moment they stop, which is why trainers and rescue kennels reach for one first.
The Strand is 6mm rope rather than the usual 10mm. Lighter in the hand, neater over the head, and still strong enough for any dog that walks on a lead. The 19mm BioThane® slider sets where the loop closes, so it sits behind the ears and stays there.
It is also the slip lead to choose for a puppy or a small dog. Less weight over the head and less bulk in a small hand, and because the slider sets the fit, the loop cannot close further than you allow it to. For a small dog that wears a collar rather than a slip, the 6mm slip collar for small breeds and puppies is the matching piece.
Whipped by hand at my bench in Britain. Nothing is cut until you order, so the rope colour, the binding, the end caps, the rivets and the length are all yours to choose. Twelve lengths, 120cm to 230cm.

Best lead I’ve bought,and I’ve bought many
So happy with my new slip leads. My whippets have been wild the last few weeks getting into bad habits pulling with all the pheasants and deer we have around us. The slip leads worn in a figure 8 have been a game changer from day one. They do not pull one bit - getting to enjoy their lead time and zoomie time. Thank you so much for your advice. I was worried they would be harsh on them but they actually feel really gentle towards them and completely eliminated pulling which is good for them and me.

Excellent quality and workmanship. Wonderful colours and styles. I have a Tervuren (long haired Belgian shepherd) and the lead is so light it doesn't get tangled in Zeddy's long hair. The ergonomic design makes it perfect to handle and train your dog. Minimal effort needed to input control on your dog and comes in a fantastic range of colours.
What isn't to love & why haven't you purchased one yet ;)
If you’re looking for a new slip lead I recommend this one it’s super lightweight and will easy fit in your bag or coat pocket but of course strong ! The choice of colours are lush we have the purple one and love it.
