Handmade rope and paracord dog accessories, collars, leads, slip leads, seat belts and keychains. Every piece is cut, finished and checked by hand at my Oxford studio.
Customisable rope and paracord pieces for dogs that want something properly made rather than mass-produced. Paracord collars that hold their colour and shape through daily use. Slip leads that fit correctly and communicate clearly. The full range of rope dog leads, including the cotton and British wool leads that are not shown here, is on the rope dog leads page. All customisable by rope colour, binding, hardware and size.
Made to order. Dispatched in 2 to 6 working days.
If you want the two-colour nano binding worked over the same rope, that is the Greenwich Yarn range. If the walk is mostly water and mud, the BioThane collars and leads wipe clean in a way rope does not.
If a piece does not fit when it lands, tell me and I will put it right at no cost to you under the Perfect Fit Guarantee. Everything here is built in the colours, binding and size you choose, which makes it made to your specification and outside the 14-day cancellation right, so a measurement sent over before I start saves us both the trouble. The returns page has the detail.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between rope and paracord?
Rope is the larger-diameter material (10mm or 14mm) used for full-strength leads and collars. Paracord is finer (typically 6mm or 4mm), originally a parachute cord, and is used for lighter collars and braided detailing. Both are strong, the choice is about feel and visual weight.
Is paracord strong enough for larger dogs?
Yes. Paracord at 6mm is strong for its diameter, the braided construction is what gives it that strength. The 10mm rope is used for larger breeds when the visual weight of the lead or collar matters as much as the strength.
What hardware finishes are available?
Polished brass or anthracite, in your choice of fittings: solid brass, nickel-plated or zinc die cast. Match to your dog's coat or your own preference.
Are rope and paracord accessories waterproof?
Paracord and synthetic rope dry quickly and do not absorb significant water. They are not "waterproof" in the way BioThane is, but they do not degrade from getting wet. For a fully waterproof choice, see the BioThane collection.
Who makes Green Dog rope and paracord accessories?
I do. I am Ed Howe, I started at Greenwich Markets in south London and my studio is now in Oxford. Every piece is made by the same pair of hands.
Green Dog is not a brand. It is a studio. One person, one workbench, one standard. Every collar and lead is made by hand in Oxford — tested, measured, finished. You are not buying from a supply chain. You are buying directly from the person who made it.
