Not a supply chain.
A standard.
Every collar, lead and accessory on this site is made by hand in Britain, to one standard. This is why that matters.
Every brand will tell you they care. Green Dog was built on a different kind of honesty. One standard, applied to every piece, and my name against it. Not a warehouse. Not a brand guide. Just the work, and whatever your dog needs.

dogs come back
again and again
These aren't marketing claims. They're the things customers tell me when they order a second piece, or when they send photos of their dog six months later still wearing the same collar. Click each to read more.
Nothing at Green Dog is pre-made. When you place an order, work starts on your piece. The rope is cut to your length. The hardware is chosen for your colour selection. The binding is worked by hand. It takes two to six working days before it is dispatched, because that is how long it takes to make something properly.
This means no two pieces are truly identical. Yours is yours. It also means that if a piece arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, it is mine to put right: I'll repair, replace or refund it and cover the postage. There's no manufacturer to blame, no ticket system to navigate. You talk to the person answerable for it.
British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain. Cotton milled and dyed in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in North Yorkshire. Climbing rope, BioThane and 550lb Type III paracord. Italian, French and British cowhide, chosen for each piece rather than a single origin claim. Every material is tested on my own dogs before it goes into a product.
Solid brass, solid nickel, nickel-plated and zinc die cast hardware is load-tested by the fitting's manufacturer. Not because it is required, but because a collar that fails when a dog pulls is not acceptable. The hardware has to outlive the strap it is fitted to. That is the standard.
If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours.
There is a full measuring guide, and I am always available to help before you order. If you're unsure, message me. I would rather talk it through first than have you order the wrong size.
When David Milligan's whippet collar didn't fit, I swapped it. That is not a policy. It is simply what you do when something has been made for someone's dog.
Every message comes to me. I reply personally, usually within a few hours. If you're not sure which lead to choose, I'll help you choose. If you want to see colour combinations before you order, I can photograph them. If anything arrives faulty, damaged, mis-made or not what you asked for, that's on me: I'll repair, replace or refund it, and I cover the postage both ways.
Amazon cannot send you colour photographs, or tell you what a rope looks like in real life. I can, and I will. That is the difference.
Green Dog isn't cheap. It shouldn't be. But the cost per year of owning a Green Dog piece, set against replacing a cheap collar twice a year, usually makes it the better value option rather than the expensive one.
Emily put it best: "I am very glad I paid the extra over Amazon, a better item by far." If the hardware fails in the first twelve months I'll repair or replace it and cover the postage. After that, send it back any time and I'll replace worn parts at cost plus postage.

Nothing cheap.
Nothing wasted.
Every material is chosen for a reason, not to hit a price point, but because it performs best for your dog. Where a material has an origin worth stating, it is stated exactly. Where it does not, nothing is claimed. Everything is tested before it goes into a product, and if a material isn't good enough it doesn't get used.
Green Dog vs the alternatives
Three things I commit to
every single time
A piece is packed only when it meets the standard. If it doesn't, it is made again. That is not a policy. It is the line the work is held to.
You're not raising a ticket. You're messaging the person answerable for your piece. I reply within hours. I'm happy to help, and I don't rush you out of the conversation.
If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours. Hardware that fails inside twelve months is repaired or replaced, and I cover the postage.
