How I work
- Hardware is guaranteed for twelve months. If a buckle, clip or ring fails in that time, send it back and I’ll repair or replace it, and I cover the postage.
- After that, send it back anyway, however old it is. I’ll replace the worn parts at cost and tell you what it needs before I touch it. It comes back cleaned, checked and boxed.
- If it isn’t adjustable, I check your measurements with you before I make it.
- Message the shop and it’s me, Ed, who replies. Usually within a few hours.
- Custom pieces aren’t refundable for a change of mind. If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours.

Made to your measurements. Because I cut this to the size you give me, it isn't covered by the usual 14-day change-of-mind right: I can't resell it, so I can't take it back simply because you've changed your mind. If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours. If anything arrives faulty, damaged, mis-made or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage both ways. Either way, message me. The Dingley Hybrid, built to your specification. A hand-woven ecru British wool collar body over a 19mm BioThane® adjustable strap, so you get the handle and the character of wool with a strap that wipes clean after a wet walk and does not hold smells.
The preset Dingley comes in one colourway. This one does not. You choose the weave, the strap colour, the collar keeper and the finish on every piece of metal. Nothing is woven until you order.
Two weaves, and they are genuinely different widths
- 3-row, 34mm wide, which suits any breed
- 4-row sighthound, 43mm wide, for whippets, lurchers and greyhounds, or for any dog where a broader collar spreads the pressure better
Both are woven over the same 19mm strap, so the adjustment range is identical.

The wool
Dingley is the ecru. It is undyed: the colour is the colour the sheep grew. British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain. It is the one material here that genuinely gets better with use rather than wearing out.
What comes as standard
Every collar carries an 11mm Green Dog brass disc on the D-ring, stamped once with the logo. Brass is the classic pairing for wool and it is what the preset Dingleys are built with, so if you are undecided, take brass through the hardware and the disc will sit with it. Twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Living with it
The BioThane® strap and keeper wipe clean with a damp cloth and rinse under a tap after heavy mud. The wool is untreated, which is what gives it the handle, and it will felt if it gets wet and worked, so do not wash it. Let mud dry and brush it out with a soft brush. Ecru shows dirt more readily than a dark wool, which is worth knowing if your dog spends its life in a hedge.
