British wool provenance
The wool in this piece matters.

It arrives as finished British rope and braid from Sustainable Rope, founded by Kate Drury, a fourth-generation sheep farmer and a British Wool board member. It is graded at British Wool in Bradford, spun in Huddersfield, and woven by hand in Oxford. British farmers are paid properly for their wool, and it is made into a proper British material rather than bought in as the cheapest import. That is not an accident. It is what makes this worth making.

4th generation sheep farmer. Kate Drury founded Sustainable Rope, who make the British wool rope and braid I buy.
About this piece

The Brampton Wool Keyring Tassel is made from the same British Brampton wool as The Brampton collar and lead, bound with 1mm hemp cord and finished with a solid brass split ring. Choose the cord in cream or grey.

Attaches to keys, clips onto a bag, or hangs from your dog's lead D-ring. Handmade in Oxford by me. A considered small gift for anyone who cares about what things are made from.

Materials & construction

Wool: Brampton, the charcoal grey wool, the same wool used in the Brampton collar and lead. It is undyed. The colour is the colour the sheep grew. My wool braid comes from Sustainable Rope, founded by Kate Drury, a fourth-generation sheep farmer and a British Wool board member. It is graded and baled at British Wool in Bradford and spun at a mill in Huddersfield.

Hardware: Solid brass split ring. Twelve-month hardware guarantee.

Binding: 1mm hemp cord, in cream or grey. The wool is Brampton charcoal either way. The cord is what changes.

Handmade in Oxford. Attaches to keys, clips onto a bag, or hangs from your dog's lead D-ring.

Sizing & fit

One size. The binding is 1mm hemp cord, in cream or grey. Select your preference at checkout. The wool is Brampton charcoal on both.

Changing your mind: A keyring is about as ordinary a purchase as I sell: one size, a fixed wool, and a binding colour off a list of two. So you keep the full 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks only for 14. If it arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, tell me and I will repair, replace or refund it, and I pay the postage. Terms on my returns page.

Care & durability

The wool is untreated, which is what gives it the handle. It also means it will felt if it gets wet and worked, so do not wash it. Let any dirt dry completely and brush it out with a soft brush.

Questions & answers

Is it the same wool as the collar and lead? Yes. Same British Brampton wool, same hands, same studio.

Can I wash it? No. The wool is untreated and will felt, and there is a solid brass split ring on it. Let it dry and brush it out instead.

Which binding colour should I pick? The tassel is Brampton charcoal wool either way. The binding is 1mm hemp cord in cream or grey, so pick whichever sits better with your Brampton piece.

Will it survive being clipped to a lead in the rain? It is wool, so it will get damp and dry out again. Let it dry naturally rather than on a radiator.

How long will it take to arrive? 2–6 working days. Everything is made to order in Oxford, not picked off a shelf. Free UK tracked shipping over £55.

Delivery & returns

Made to order in Oxford and dispatched in 2–6 working days. Free UK tracked shipping on orders over £55, and international shipping is available at checkout. It's worth two minutes with the measuring guide before you order. This is a size from a range I already make, so if the size turns out to be wrong, message me within 14 days — an exchange or an amendment is usually simpler than sending it back. If I got it wrong, I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours. Either way, message me — I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. You also have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14: send it back unused and I'll refund what you paid for it and the standard delivery I charged, and the return postage is at your cost. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's on me — repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage.
