British wool provenance
The wool in this piece matters.

British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain. It arrives here as finished rope and braid, and is woven by hand. That is the whole route, and it is the reason this is worth making.

100% British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain.
About this piece

The Brampton Wool Keyring Tassel is spliced by hand from the same 14mm twisted British wool rope as The Brampton lead, in Brampton, the charcoal grey wool. It is undyed. The colour is the colour the sheep grew. Whipped with 1mm hemp cord and finished with a solid brass split ring. Choose the cord in cream or grey.

Attaches to keys, clips onto a bag, or hangs from your dog's lead D-ring. Made by hand in Britain. A considered small gift for anyone who cares about what things are made from.

Materials & construction

Rope: 14mm twisted British wool rope in Brampton, the charcoal grey wool, the same rope used in the Brampton lead, spliced by hand. It is undyed. The colour is the colour the sheep grew. British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain.

Binding: 1mm hemp cord, whipped over the splice by hand, in cream or grey. The wool is Brampton charcoal either way. The cord is what changes.

Hardware: Solid brass split ring. Twelve-month hardware guarantee.

Made by hand in Britain. Attaches to keys, clips onto a bag, or hangs from your dog's lead D-ring.

Sizing & fit

One size. The binding is 1mm hemp cord, in cream or grey. Select your preference at checkout. The wool is Brampton charcoal on both.

Changing your mind: A keyring is about as ordinary a purchase as I sell: one size, a fixed wool, and a binding colour off a list of two. So you keep the full 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks only for 14. If it arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, tell me and I will repair, replace or refund it, and I pay the postage. Terms on my returns page.

Care & durability

The wool is untreated, which is what gives it the handle. It also means it will felt if it gets wet and worked, so do not wash it. Let any dirt dry completely and brush it out with a soft brush.

Questions & answers

Is it the same wool as the collar and lead? Yes. The same British Brampton wool, made to the same standard.

Can I wash it? No. The wool is untreated and will felt, and there is a solid brass split ring on it. Let it dry and brush it out instead.

Which binding colour should I pick? The tassel is Brampton charcoal wool either way. The binding is 1mm hemp cord in cream or grey, so pick whichever sits better with your Brampton piece.

Will it survive being clipped to a lead in the rain? It is wool, so it will get damp and dry out again. Let it dry naturally rather than on a radiator.

How long will it take to arrive? Two to six working days is the making window, and it ends when the keyring is dispatched. UK tracked post is one to two working days after that, so door to door is usually three to eight working days. UK tracked delivery is free over £55.

Delivery & returns

Made to order in Britain and dispatched in 2 to 6 working days. It's worth two minutes with the measuring guide before you order. This is a size from a range I already make, so if the size turns out to be wrong, message me within 14 days. An exchange or an amendment is usually simpler than sending it back. If I got it wrong, I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours. Either way, message me. I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. You also have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14: send it back unused and I'll refund what you paid for it and the standard delivery I charged, and the return postage is at your cost. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage.
