Greenwich Yarn Rope Dog Lead | Fully Customisable
How I work
- Hardware is guaranteed for twelve months. If a buckle, clip or ring fails in that time, send it back and I’ll repair or replace it, and I cover the postage.
- After that, send it back anyway, however old it is. I’ll replace the worn parts at cost and tell you what it needs before I touch it. It comes back cleaned, checked and boxed.
- If it isn’t adjustable, I check your measurements with you before I make it.
- Message the shop and it’s me, Ed, who replies. Usually within a few hours.
- Custom pieces aren’t refundable for a change of mind, but size exchanges and amendments are available. If I got it wrong, faulty or not as described, I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turns out not to suit your dog, it’s yours.

Complete your set
Add a collar to your order and 10% comes off the lead automatically.
Order a Greenwich Yarn collar and lead together and I’ll include a matching keyring, whipped from the same ropes, free.
This one counts as a slip lead too, so buying it takes 10% off a second item. Only one automatic discount comes off any order, so you get one offer or the other, never both.
Not sure? Ask Ed directly I reply to every message — usually within a few hoursSizing & measuring+
Every piece is made to your dog's exact measurements. Use the Measuring Guide to get it right first time.
If the size isn't right, message me — size exchanges and amendments are available. If I got it wrong I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours.
Hardware & construction+
Every snap, D-ring and slider is load-tested by its manufacturer. Brass develops a patina over time — a feature, not a fault.
Send it back to me. If the hardware fails in the first twelve months I'll repair or replace it free, and I cover the postage. After that, send it back any time and I'll replace worn parts at cost plus postage.
Delivery & lead time+
Your order enters the making queue immediately. Current lead time is 2–6 working days before dispatch.
All UK orders ship tracked. Free UK mainland tracked shipping on orders over £55.
Returns & exchanges+
Made to your measurements. Because I cut this to the size you give me, it isn't covered by the usual 14-day change-of-mind right — I can't resell it, so I can't take it back simply because you've changed your mind. If the size isn't right, message me: size exchanges and amendments are available. If I got it wrong — faulty, damaged, mis-made or not what you asked for — I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, I'll still sort it with an exchange or an amendment, and the postage each way is yours. Either way, message me — I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's on me — repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage. The full position is on my returns and guarantee page.
I'd far rather spend ten minutes with you before I start than have to alter it afterwards, so read the measuring guide, and if you're unsure about anything, email me first: hello@greendog.pet. The person who made it will reply.
Greenwich Yarn Rope Dog Lead | Fully Customisable
This is the fully customisable Greenwich Yarn rope dog lead, handmade to order at Green Dog's Oxford studio. 10mm PPM rope, precision nano binding, and your choice of hardware finish and lead configuration. An 11mm Green Dog brass disc, hand-stamped by me, sits on the O-ring at the handle.
Greenwich Yarn describes how the lead is finished, not what it is made from. A primary nano cord is whipped over the rope by hand, then an accent colour is worked over the top. It is whipping rather than splicing, and it is the same technique on the collars, the leads and the keyrings.
Choose your rope colour, primary binding, accent binding, hardware finish (brass, nickel, black or gun-metal), and lead style (clip, slip, or figure of 8). Every combination is made fresh, nothing sitting in stock, nothing templated.
Which style to choose
- Clip. A trigger clip at the collar end and a fixed handle. The everyday walking lead. The 19mm BioThane® slider sits at the handle as a design detail.
- Slip. One continuous loop, no clip and no separate collar. It tightens gently when your dog pulls and releases the moment they stop. The slider sets where the loop closes, so it sits behind the ears and stays there.
- Figure of 8. Two points of contact instead of one. The loop passes over the nose and behind the ears, so a dog that pulls feels the signal at the head rather than the throat. The slider holds the fit.
