How I work
- Hardware is guaranteed for twelve months. If a buckle, clip or ring fails in that time, send it back and I’ll repair or replace it, and I cover the postage.
- After that, send it back anyway, however old it is. I’ll replace the worn parts at cost and tell you what it needs before I touch it. It comes back cleaned, checked and boxed.
- If it isn’t adjustable, I check your measurements with you before I make it.
- Message the shop and it’s me, Ed, who replies. Usually within a few hours.
- Custom pieces aren’t refundable for a change of mind. If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours.

Made to your measurements. Because I cut this to the size you give me, it isn't covered by the usual 14-day change-of-mind right: I can't resell it, so I can't take it back simply because you've changed your mind. If it does not fit when it arrives, tell me and I will adjust or remake it. If I got the size wrong, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage is yours. If anything arrives faulty, damaged, mis-made or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage both ways. Either way, message me. I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. The full position is on my returns and guarantee page.
I'd far rather spend ten minutes with you before I start than have to alter it afterwards, so read the measuring guide, and if you're unsure about anything, email me first: hello@greendog.pet. The person who made it will reply.
Greenwich Yarn Rope Dog Lead (6mm) | Fully Customisable
The Greenwich Yarn Mini Lead is the 6mm version of the customisable Greenwich Yarn rope lead: lighter, more compact, and proportioned for smaller breeds and those who prefer a slimmer lead in the hand. The same Greenwich Yarn whipping, a primary nano cord whipped over the rope with an accent colour worked over the top, and the same construction, scaled down. An 11mm Green Dog brass disc sits on the O-ring at the handle, stamped once with the logo.
Choose your rope colour, binding colours, hardware finish, and lead configuration. Available as clip, slip, or figure of 8. Made to order in Britain.
Which style to choose
- Clip. A trigger clip at the collar end and a fixed handle. The everyday walking lead. The 19mm BioThane® slider sits at the handle as a design detail.
- Slip. One continuous loop, no clip and no separate collar. It tightens gently when your dog pulls and releases the moment they stop. The slider sets where the loop closes, so it sits behind the ears and stays there.
- Figure of 8. Two points of contact instead of one. The loop passes over the nose and behind the ears, so a dog that pulls feels the signal at the head rather than the throat. The slider holds the fit.
Still deciding? Figure of 8 vs slip lead vs slip collar
6mm or 10mm? 6mm is the right weight for a dog under roughly 12kg, and for anyone who finds a 10mm lead bulky to hold or to coil into a pocket. It is not a lighter-duty lead in how it is built, only in how it is proportioned. If your dog is bigger than that, the 10mm Greenwich Yarn lead is the one you want.
Made in Britain, and I will tell you exactly what that means. Every customisable Greenwich Yarn lead is cut, whipped and finished by hand in my workshop in Oxford. Custom work is not outsourced and will not be. Nothing is made in a batch and left on a shelf, so your lead is started after you order it. The rope is 6mm PPM, chosen for how it holds a whipping and how it behaves wet. I would rather be specific than sweeping.
Pairs with the Greenwich Yarn Mini Collar (6mm). Two offers run on this lead and neither needs a code. Put a collar and this lead in the same basket and 10% comes off the lead. Or add any second piece alongside it and 20% comes off that second piece, whichever style of lead you choose. Only one automatic offer applies per order, so you take whichever is worth more, and neither combines with a discount code.
What you can customise
- Rope colour (6mm PPM)
- Primary and accent nano binding colours
- 19mm BioThane® slider and stopper colour
- Metal finish for the end caps, rivets and O-ring
- Lead style: clip, slip or figure of 8
- Length, 120cm to 230cm
Every lead is finished with a branded cotton label.
Twelve-month hardware guarantee. If a fitting fails inside a year I repair or replace it and cover the postage. Later on, the lead can be cleaned, re-whipped in new colours or restored through the Workshop Service. I made it, so I can remake it.
