It arrives as finished British rope and braid from Sustainable Rope, founded by Kate Drury, a fourth-generation sheep farmer and a British Wool board member. It is graded at British Wool in Bradford, spun in Huddersfield, and woven by hand in Oxford. British farmers are paid properly for their wool, and it is made into a proper British material rather than bought in as the cheapest import. That is not an accident. It is what makes this worth making.

The Swaledale Wool Keyring Tassel is made from the same British Swaledale wool as The Swaledale lead, bound with cream 1mm hemp cord and finished with a solid brass split ring that attaches to keys, a bag, or clips directly onto your dog's lead.
Handmade in Oxford by me. Small enough to carry everywhere, made well enough to last. A considered gift for dog owners who care about what things are made from.

Materials & construction+
Wool: British Swaledale wool, the same wool used in the Swaledale lead. Swaledale is a native Yorkshire breed. My wool comes from Sustainable Rope, founded by Kate Drury, a fourth-generation sheep farmer and a British Wool board member. It is graded and baled at British Wool in Bradford and spun at a mill in Huddersfield.
Binding: Cream 1mm hemp cord, wrapped by hand.
Hardware: Solid brass split ring. Twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Handmade in Oxford. Attaches to keys, clips onto a bag, or hangs from your dog's lead.
Sizing & fit+
One size. Fits standard key rings and lead D-rings. The binding is cream 1mm hemp cord.
Changing your mind: Bought exactly as shown, with nothing for you to specify, so the full 30 days from delivery apply rather than the 14 the law sets as a minimum. If it lands faulty, damaged or not as described, I will put it right: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage. See my returns page.
Care & durability+
The wool is untreated, which is what gives it the handle. It also means it will felt if it gets wet and worked, so do not wash it. Let any dirt dry completely and brush it out with a soft brush.

Is it the same wool as the Swaledale lead? Yes. British Swaledale wool, a native Yorkshire breed, made in the same studio by the same hands.
Can I wash it? No. The wool is untreated and will felt, and there is a solid brass split ring on it. Let it dry and brush it out instead.
What can I attach it to? Keys, a bag, or the D-ring on your dog's lead. The split ring is solid brass.
Will it hold up outdoors? It is wool, so it will get damp and dry out again. Let it dry naturally rather than on a radiator.

It's worth two minutes with the measuring guide before you order. This is a size from a range I already make, so if the size turns out to be wrong, message me within 14 days — an exchange or an amendment is usually simpler than sending it back. If I got it wrong, I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours. Either way, message me — I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. You also have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14: send it back unused and I'll refund what you paid for it and the standard delivery I charged, and the return postage is at your cost. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's on me — repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage.
