British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain. It arrives here as finished rope and braid, and is woven by hand. That is the whole route, and it is the reason this is worth making.
About this piece+
The Brampton is made by hand in Britain from British Brampton wool. Brampton is the charcoal grey wool, undyed. The colour is the colour the sheep grew. Woven into a structured collar body, backed by a black natural leather strap and finished with solid brass hardware and an 11mm brass disc on the D-ring, stamped once with the Green Dog logo. Now choose from six leather colours.
This is a handmade British wool dog collar for daily wear. The wool weave holds its shape through outdoor use and wet weather, sitting comfortably against the neck all day.
Six sizes. Size exchanges and amendments available. Checked before it leaves the bench.

Materials & construction+
Wool weave: Brampton, the charcoal grey wool, hand-woven into the collar body in Britain. It is undyed. The colour is the colour the sheep grew. The wool weave is 34mm wide and 1cm thick. British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain.
Leather strap: Natural leather, naturally finished, 19mm wide. Black as standard, with five other leather colours to choose from.
Hardware: Solid brass roller buckle and D-ring, plus an 11mm Green Dog brass disc stamped once with the logo. Twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Sizes: Six, from 9 to 26 inches.
Made to order in small runs, never in bulk. Nothing here is pre-made.
Sizing & fit+
How to measure: Run a soft tape around the widest point of your dog's neck, snug but not tight. Two fingers should sit comfortably under the finished collar.
Choosing a size: Each size is a range, not a single figure, so there is adjustment either side of your measurement. Pick the range your measurement sits inside. If you land between two, take the larger one.
Available sizes: 9 to 12 inches, 11 to 14 inches, 14 to 17 inches, 17 to 20 inches, 20 to 23 inches, 23 to 26 inches.
Puppies: Buy for the neck the dog has now. A collar bought oversized to grow into does not sit where it should in the meantime.
If it is wrong: Message me. Size exchanges and amendments are available.
Changing your mind: This is the everyday Brampton, bought as shown in a size and a strap colour I already make, so you keep a full 30 days from delivery to change your mind rather than the 14 the law sets. If the fit is not right when it arrives, message me. Size exchanges and amendments are available. Full terms on my returns page.
Who pays the postage on an exchange: If the mistake is mine, meaning I have made up the wrong range or fitted the wrong strap colour, I cover the postage both ways. If the measurement simply turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours.
If it arrives faulty: Anything faulty, damaged or not as described is on me. I will repair it, replace it or refund it, and I cover the postage.
Care & durability+
Wool: The wool is untreated, which is what gives it the handle. It also means it will felt if it gets wet and worked, so do not wash it. Let mud dry completely and brush it out with a soft brush.
Leather strap: Wipe mud off with a damp cloth and let it dry naturally, not on a radiator. Condition it once or twice a year with a leather balm. That is all it needs.
Hardware: Wipe the brass clean. It darkens into a patina with use, which is normal. Polish it lightly if you prefer it bright. Covered by Green Dog's twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Not machine washable: Nothing in this range goes in a washing machine. The wool is untreated and will felt, and the leather and the brass would not survive it either. A finished piece is only as washable as its least tolerant part.
Wool is the one material here that genuinely gets better. Customers who have had these pieces for years tell me they have improved with use, not worn out.
Questions & answers+
Can I machine wash this collar? No. The wool is untreated and will felt in a machine, and the leather strap and brass would not take it either. Do not wash the wool at all: let it dry and brush it out instead. Wipe the leather.
Is Brampton wool grey, or is that the leather? The wool is charcoal grey. The leather strap is black as standard, and there are five other leather colours if you want the strap to do something different.
How wide is the collar? The wool weave is 34mm wide and 1cm thick. The leather strap behind it is 19mm.
Does the wool wear out? It is the part that improves. Customers who have had Brampton collars for years say they have got better with use. The leather softens too. The hardware is the part carrying a twelve-month guarantee.
Is there a matching lead? Yes, the Brampton Wool Lead. Put the collar and the lead in the same basket and 10% comes off the lead automatically, with no code. It does not combine with a discount code.
How long will it take to arrive? Two to six working days is the making window, and it ends when the collar is dispatched. UK tracked post is one to two working days after that, so door to door is usually three to eight working days. UK tracked delivery is free over £55.
Delivery & returns+
Made to order in Britain and dispatched in 2 to 6 working days. It's worth two minutes with the measuring guide before you order. This is a size from a range I already make, so if the size turns out to be wrong, message me within 14 days. An exchange or an amendment is usually simpler than sending it back. If I got it wrong, I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours. Either way, message me. I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. You also have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14: send it back unused and I'll refund what you paid for it and the standard delivery I charged, and the return postage is at your cost. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage.
