British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain. It arrives here as finished rope and braid, and is woven by hand. That is the whole route, and it is the reason this is worth making.
About this piece+
The Brampton Mini is made by hand in Britain for the smallest breeds: Miniature Dachshunds, Jack Russells, Chihuahuas, Miniature Pinschers and similar toy dogs. Every dimension is scaled with the same care as the full-size collar.
Built from a fishtail 2-row weave using 2mm British Brampton wool braid, lighter and narrower than the Classic Brampton, but made from the same charcoal grey Brampton wool. Backed by a slim 16mm black natural leather strap with a 15mm solid brass buckle, and an 11mm Green Dog brass disc on the D-ring, stamped once with the logo. Choose from six colours of leather.
Four sizes. Size exchanges and amendments available. Built for small necks, made to last for years.

Materials & construction+
Wool weave: Brampton, the charcoal grey wool, in a fishtail 2-row weave, using 2mm wool braid. Approximately 20mm wide and 1cm thick, lighter and narrower than the Classic, from the same undyed wool. The colour is the colour the sheep grew. British wool, graded and spun in Yorkshire, and laid into rope in Britain.
Leather strap: Slim 16mm natural leather, naturally finished. Black as standard, with five other leather colours to choose from.
Hardware: 15mm solid brass buckle and an 11mm Green Dog brass disc stamped once with the logo. Twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Sizes: Four, from 8 to 13 inches, for small and toy breeds.
Scaled down with the same care as the full-size collar, and made to order in Britain.
Sizing & fit+
Who it is for: Miniature Dachshunds, Jack Russells, Chihuahuas, Miniature Pinschers and similar toy breeds.
How to measure: Run a soft tape around the widest point of the neck, snug but not tight. Two fingers should sit comfortably underneath. On a small dog that is a genuinely small gap, so take the measurement twice.
Choosing a size: Each size is a range. Pick the range your measurement sits inside; if you land between two, take the larger one.
Available sizes: 8 to 10 inches, 9 to 11 inches, 10 to 12 inches, 11 to 13 inches.
Puppies: Buy for the neck the dog has now. A small breed puppy moves through the ranges quickly, and an oversized collar does not sit properly while you wait.
If it is wrong: Message me. Size exchanges and amendments are available.
Changing your mind: You choose a size range and a strap colour, both from lists I already make, so this is an ordinary purchase and you keep a full 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14. Small necks are the easiest to misjudge, so read the measuring guide or message me before you order. If the size turns out wrong, size exchanges and amendments are available. The terms are on my returns page.
Who pays the postage on an exchange: If I got it wrong at my end, the postage both ways is mine. If the neck measurement turned out not to suit the dog, the postage each way is yours.
If something is wrong with it: Faulty, damaged or not as described is my responsibility. Repair, replacement or refund, and I pay the postage.
Care & durability+
Wool: The wool is untreated, which is what gives it the handle. It also means it will felt if it gets wet and worked, so do not wash it. Let mud dry completely and brush it out with a soft brush.
Leather strap: Wipe mud off with a damp cloth and let it dry naturally, not on a radiator. Condition it once or twice a year with a leather balm. That is all it needs.
Hardware: Wipe the brass clean. It darkens into a patina with use. Polish it lightly if you prefer it bright. Covered by Green Dog's twelve-month hardware guarantee.
Not machine washable: Nothing in this range goes in a washing machine. The wool is untreated and will felt, and the leather and the brass would not survive it either. A finished piece is only as washable as its least tolerant part.
Wool is the one material here that genuinely gets better. Customers who have had these pieces for years tell me they have improved with use, not worn out.
Questions & answers+
Is this just a smaller version of the Classic Brampton? Same wool, different build. The Mini uses a fishtail 2-row weave from 2mm wool braid at roughly 20mm wide, rather than the Classic's 34mm wool weave, and the leather strap is a matching slim 16mm. It is lighter, which matters on a small dog.
Will it be too heavy for a Chihuahua or a Miniature Dachshund? It is built for exactly those dogs. The 2-row weave and the 16mm leather strap are the lightest combination in the wool range.
Can I wash it? No. The wool is untreated and will felt, and the leather and brass would be damaged. Do not wash the wool: let it dry and brush it out instead. Wipe the leather and let it air dry naturally.
My puppy is still growing. What size should I buy? The one that fits now. Each size is a range so there is some room in it, but a collar bought two sizes big does not sit where it should. Size exchange is included if you get it wrong.
Is there a matching lead? Yes, the Brampton Wool Lead. Put the collar and the lead in the same basket and 10% comes off the lead automatically, with no code. It does not combine with a discount code.
How long will it take to arrive? Two to six working days is the making window, and it ends when the collar is dispatched. UK tracked post is one to two working days after that, so door to door is usually three to eight working days. UK tracked delivery is free over £55.
Delivery & returns+
Made to order in Britain and dispatched in 2 to 6 working days. It's worth two minutes with the measuring guide before you order. This is a size from a range I already make, so if the size turns out to be wrong, message me within 14 days. An exchange or an amendment is usually simpler than sending it back. If I got it wrong, I cover the postage both ways; if the measurement turned out not to suit your dog, the postage each way is yours. Either way, message me. I'd far rather talk it through than have you post anything. You also have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, where the law asks for 14: send it back unused and I'll refund what you paid for it and the standard delivery I charged, and the return postage is at your cost. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's on me: repair, replacement or refund, and I cover the postage.

Absolutely love this collar. The quality is outstanding and you can tell straight away how much care and craftsmanship has gone into making it. The British wool is beautiful, really soft yet sturdy, and I even love the natural smell of the wool in the collar, it gives it such an authentic, premium feel. The leather and brass details finish it perfectly. It looks stylish, feels premium, and fits brilliantly.
It’s so nice to find something handmade with care in the UK that’s this well made and clearly built to last. Our dog looks fantastic in it and we’ve already had lots of compliments. Ed’s collars and leads are definitely worth it for our special family members. Highly recommend Ed and Boris at Green Dog for anyone wanting something a bit special for their dog.
