Delivery & Making Time

Each lead is handmade to order in my Oxfordshire studio.

  • Making time: 1–4 working days (my aim is 2)
  • UK delivery: tracked 1–2 working days once dispatched
  • International delivery: tracked options at checkout

Materials & Construction

  • Waterproof BioThane strap, cut and finished for daily use
  • Strong clip and D-ring options (finish to match your build)
  • Handmade assembly for secure joins and a clean, durable finish

Sizing & Fit

  • A traffic lead is designed to be short for close control. Pick the length that keeps your dog comfortably at heel while still allowing natural arm movement.
  • If your dog is large or excitable, choose a length that keeps them close without pulling your shoulder forward.
  • Best used clipped to a harness for steady control.

Care & Durability

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth or rinse after muddy walks
  • Air dry naturally
  • Check clip and attachment points regularly, especially if your dog pulls hard

Safety & Usage Notes

  • Designed for close control while walking, training, and managing busy environments
  • Not designed as a tie-out
  • For car travel, use a dedicated car restraint set-up rather than relying on a lead alone
  • If your dog lunges, a harness is usually the safer attachment point than a collar

FAQs

Q: What is a traffic lead used for?

A: Close control in busy or high-risk moments like road crossings, crowds, vet visits, and training transitions. It keeps your dog right by your side without excess length.

Q: Should I clip it to a collar or harness?

A: A harness is usually best for steady control and comfort, especially if your dog pulls or lunges. A collar works for calm dogs, but a harness is the safer default.

Q: What length should I choose?

A: Choose the length that keeps your dog close without forcing your arm into an awkward position. Shorter gives maximum control, slightly longer gives a bit more comfort and movement.

Q: Can I use this as my only lead?

A: It can be, but most people use it as a close-control option alongside a standard lead for normal walking distance.

The Tab is a Biothane traffic lead made for close control in busy moments. Think road crossings, tight pavements, crowds, vet visits, or any time you want your dog right by your side without wrapping a long lead around your wrist like a spaghetti western.

Handmade to order in my Oxfordshire studio using waterproof, wipe-clean BioThane, it attaches to a harness or collar and gives you immediate control with minimal bulk. Choose your colours, hardware finish, and the length that suits your dog and your routine.
